Welcome to SunSmiles! We offer childcare for families looking to provide their child with a loving and compassionate environment that’s just like home. At our home daycare, our goal is to help children learn important social, emotional, and behavioral skills that prepare them for a successful and happy future. We offer an environment that advances curiosity and inquisitiveness through Developmental Play-based activities. At SunSmiles Home Childcare, we participate in the CocoKids Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and follow their nutrition guidelines to provide healthy, balanced meals for every child in our care. Through this partnership, we serve nutritious breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner that meet the USDA-based meal pattern requirements for fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and dairy, as outlined by CocoKids and CACFP standards.
Our meals and snacks are planned and documented to align with these federal nutrition standards, and we are regularly audited to ensure compliance with CocoKids’ food program requirements. This means your child receives meals that support healthy growth, strong bodies, and positive eating habits, all within our nurturing childcare environment.
We support each child’s growth through a well-rounded, age-appropriate approach:
- Physical Development: Building fine and gross motor skills, overall health, and body coordination through activities like crawling, walking, running, jumping, and learning to use utensils.
- Cognitive Development: Encouraging thinking, problem-solving, and memory with hands-on activities such as counting, sorting, puzzles, and storytelling.
- Social-Emotional Development: Helping children learn to interact with others, manage emotions, build relationships, share, cooperate, and confidently express their feelings.
- Language Development: Supporting clear and effective communication by practicing listening, speaking, early reading, and writing skills.
- Creative Development: Fostering imagination and self-expression through art, music, and play, including drawing, painting, singing, and imaginative activities.
